জাতীয় স্মৃতিসৌধ ll

The national monument of Bangladesh, Jatiyo Smriti Shoudho is the symbol of bravery and the sacrifice of the martyrs in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. Syed Mainul Hossain designed the monument and it was inaugurated on 16th December 1982. The middle one is the tallest of 7 isosceles triangular pyramid shaped structures of the monument. The whole area of 84 acres is very attractive having a greenery of 24.7 acres wrapped around it. Concrete is used to build the monument tower and the other structures and pavement are made of red bricks which reminds us of the red blood of the martyrs. One has to walk through different ups and downs of the pavements to reach the Smriti Shoudho which represents the struggle for independence.
